Cake Anyone?

I had anxiously waited for Saturday to come. Joe & Luke were having a mens day out so that meant Abby & I had the entire day to ourselves! We had a relaxing morning, complete with lots of giggles and girl talk. Then we planed to bake uncle Josh a cake for his 28th birthday. Abby is quite an artist and has recently taken to cake decorating. She choose a 2 layer design, after it cooled, she delicately began applying the icing and making the little man she said was Uncle Josh, he was holding balloons. I stayed in the kitchen helping her the entire 2 hours it took her to decorate it! She was so proud of herself, mom was extremely proud too...

Then it happened, I asked Abby to feed the cats. She let them in the back door as she normally does, so that Belle, our black lab, won't steal their food. We were in the back part of the house only for a minute. When we walked into the kitchen, we saw Stormy, Abby's kitten eating the cake! After snapping his picture, I scolded him and put him outside. Abby was truly upset, she cried and cried. I was thankful it was her cat that ate it instead of her brothers!


When my father found out what had happened he drove Abby to the store and let her pick out a fresh cake. The smile was coming back to her face now...
