My Blessing ~ Giving Thanks-Thursday

I have so many, many things to be thankful for, but I will restrain myself on this post and only list one.....

Today was parent teacher conferences. I have been participating in conferences for 5 years now and I have never had a fear of these before, but today was quite different. Luke is now in Kindergarten and for the most part, is doing well, but I knew his beloved teacher was having some concerns of her own. I went in with a heavy heart....she meet me with such warmth and an encouraging smile, that I felt myself relax a little. She said she didn't know where to start, so she would just come out and say it....She said the past couple of weeks was like a veil had been lifted off of Luke! She said he was counting, rhyming his words, writing in his journal and READING small words!!!! She said she had never seen a child take off like he was! Of course I began weeping on the spot....I am still tearing up trying to post this! You can read Luke's story here.

Luke is half the way through a medication wean that we started in September. I cannot wait till he is off the medicaiton all together so we can see the real Luke. That still leaves him on one seizure medication, which he will remain on for a few more years.

I am thankful to God for touching my little guy and giving him back his life...
